Total Bytes (SVRsvrBytesTotalPerSec)
Displays the number of bytes the server has sent to and received from the network. This value provides an overall indication of server workload.
Note
The Total Bytes attribute in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management is referred as the SVRsvrBytesTotalPerSec parameter in BMC PATROL.
This parameter is inactive by default. You can activate this parameter from the PATROL Console KM tab.
Recommendations
If this number is consistently at or above 50 percent of the network capacity, you may need to put the server on a faster switch or hub. You can also add a second network interface card (NIC) to the server and build a subnetwork using Windows NT's routing capability.
Thresholds for alarms and warnings
No default thresholds have been set for this parameter. The baselining overview may help you determine appropriate settings for your system.
