Bytes Total Per Sec (BEUbeuBytesTotalPerSec)
Displays the total rate of bytes sent to or received from the network; this includes only the packets that carry data.
Note
The Bytes Total Per Sec attribute in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management is referred as the BEUbeuBytesTotalPerSec parameter in BMC PATROL.
This parameter is inactive by default. You can activate this parameter from the PATROL Console KM tab.
Recommendations
The packet size is BEUbeuPktsPerSec. If the packet size drops, collisions are probably occurring and network efficiency is decreasing. The collisions may be caused by such things as a large number of users in a poorly configured network, or by a defective network card (NIC) that is sending excessive messages.
Consider running a diagnostic test on your NIC to check for configuration or hardware errors. Most NIC manufacturers provide a diskette that contains testing software.
Thresholds for alarms and warnings
No default thresholds have been set for this parameter. The Baselining Overview topic may help you determine appropriate settings for your system.
