Log Monitoring (LOGT)


To access the LOGT application class, double-click the LOG application instance for which you want to view log search string information. The LOGT application class contains instances of the LOGMON application class and contains log search string information.

Note

The monitor type in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management is referred as the application class in BMC PATROL.

Monitored Regular Expression

The search string you entered in the Add-File-for-Label-instanceName-dialog-box.

File Name Pattern

The name of the log file, including any wildcard characters used

File Disposition

The value is ALL if are monitoring all log files that match the specified naming pattern. The value is LATEST if you are monitoring the last log file that matches the specified naming pattern. Value reflects your entries in the Add-File-for-Label-instanceName-dialog-box.

File Type

Describes the log file type of the instance being monitored

Filter File Path

For binary files, the value is the path to the filter file, if one is specified in the Add-File-for-Label-instanceName-dialog-box.

Command File Path

For command files, specifies the path to the command file.

Blackout Counter

Specifies the blackout time (if any) entered in the Add-File-for-Label-instanceName-dialog-box.

Threshold #1

The number of matches associated with State Change 1 as defined in the Add-File-for-Label-instanceName-dialog-box.

Threshold #2

The number of matches associated with State Change 2 as defined in the Add-File-for-Label-instanceName-dialog-box.

Each Scan, File, Read Location

Specifies where the KM begins scanning the log file based on what you defined in in the Add-File-for-Label-instanceName-dialog-box.

Named Pipe File Name

For pipe files, specifies the path to the pipe file.
