(If you have not previously registered for my.bmc.com you will need to do so and the system may take up to 24 hours to complete processing)
What to expect from the new Portal
Within the Portal you can Create a new Idea, Edit an Idea you created and Vote or Comment on another Idea
Creating
Select the New Idea link in the Portal

You will find a simple workflow that guides you to choose the relevant BMC Product(s) for your Idea and supply the necessary details for BMC Product Management to evaluate and respond.
As you create your Idea, the system will prompt you to suggest similar Ideas already submitted by other customers – you may vote for these instead of creating your own (or create and then vote afterwards if you desire)
Editing
Click on the Edit link for an Idea you created and make changes as needed

Deletion
Ideas, once created, cannot be deleted. Even if your need has changed, others may wish to vote for your suggestion. If you absolutely need the Idea deleted, please Comment on it requesting deletion, which will be managed by BMC Product Management.
Voting
The voting button allows you to reinforce Ideas made by other users. Please note that multiple votes for a single Idea from the same customer account will generally be counted as one.
Comments
Comments on Ideas are public and will be reviewed by BMC Product Management
User Anonymity
Within the Portal data such as Username and Company is obscured for data privacy reasons. These data are visible to BMC Product Management teams so that we can communicate with users and understand which of our customers are making each suggestion.
BMC’s Response to Ideas
As part of the new Product Management Process, BMC commits to reviewing and responding to new Ideas within 90 days
SLA Target
Combined duration of “New” and “In Review” status should not exceed 90 Days for 90% of Ideas submitted in the new Portal
Policy and FAQ
BMC Product Development and Customer Ideas
- Our focus is on delivering sustainable, high-value capabilities over time. In some cases, multiple smaller enhancements may introduce additional complexity or support overhead that outweighs their overall benefit.
- Submitting an Idea helps us learn from customer input and guide future decisions, but it does not represent a commitment to implement, prioritize, or deliver functionality within a specific timeframe or release.
- Product plans may evolve as we continue to assess customer needs and priorities.
How We Review Customer Ideas
- We value customer feedback and encourage customers to share Ideas, as these insights help us better understand customer needs and inform our product direction.
- Ideas are reviewed by our Product team and considered alongside other customer input, market trends, and strategic priorities.
- As part of this evaluation, we look at how frequently a request has been raised, the potential value it could deliver across our customer base, whether the desired outcome could be achieved in alternative or more effective ways, whether similar capabilities are already planned or under discussion, the broader customer impact of delivering or delaying the request, and how well it aligns with our long-term product strategy.
- We encourage customers to vote for existing Ideas, this helps us to gauge interest in the different concepts and understand your needs better, however we interpret votes as guiding suggestions only and we will count multiple votes from a single customer account as one
Pre-existing RFEs and Ideas
BMC Product Management is conducting a review of existing Ideas and Enhancement Requests, those that align to our road-map and/or have obviously significant value will be moved to the new Ideas system.
Other ideas that have been dormant for a significant period will be reviewed and will be closed with no further action where there is no evidence of ongoing interest in the change.
Legal and Confidentiality
- You agree that we have the royalty-free right to use the concepts contained in your Ideas and may incorporate them into our products at any time.
- BMC Ideas Portal is intended for publicly visible product suggestions – if you have a requirement that is commercially sensitive and wish to share that privately with BMC, please contact your Account or Customer Success Manager.
- BMC processes all customer data in accordance with relevant national and international laws, including GDPR. Please click here for our Data Privacy Policy
