Installing BMC Remedy ITSM


Depending on the needs of your organization, you can install one or more of the BMC Remedy ITSM applications. If you are installing only some of the BMC Remedy ITSM applications now, you can install the others later without having to perform any special integration procedures. If BMC Service Level Management is already installed on your system, the individual BMC Remedy ITSM application installers will detect it and install integration software when the installers finish. The integration software is shipped with the BMC Service Level Management application.

Each BMC Remedy IT Service Management (ITSM) application contains the consoles, forms, active links, escalations, flashboards, and so on, needed to run their basic functions. The applications also use several integrated modules and supporting applications that extend and enhance these basic functions.

Note

There are no installers for Remedy ITSM applications after version 18.05. To perform a fresh installation of Remedy ITSM, you need to first install ITSM and other applications using version 18.05 installers and then apply the latest deployment packages.

Review the list of known and corrected issues in Remedy 18.05.

There is no installer for Remedy ITSM after version 18.05. To perform a fresh installation of Remedy ITSM, you need to first install ITSM and other applications using version 18.05 installer.

When you start the installer, you can choose one or more applications or features to install.

You can choose to perform the installation in phases or all at once. Installing in phases enables you to perform configuration checks and validations, resolve any issues, and capture the installation options so you can start the installation at a later time. Install in silent mode if you do not want UI interaction.

To make Help available to the application's users, you must install the Help system on a computer that is running a web server, which is typically a different computer from the computer where the application is installed.

Perform the post installation procedure for BMC Remedy ITSM.

After completing the installation of all applications (BMC Remedy ITSM, BMC Service Request Management, and BMC Service Level Management), apply the deployment packages to install the application features.
