Pre-upgrade procedures for BMC Service Level Management
To prepare your BMC Remedy AR System Server
- Set the Submitter mode and Localized server to their pre-9.1.02 default values: changeable and False, respectively. See Setting license options and Setting the Localize Server option.
- In Centralized Configuration, under the com.bmc.cmdb.server setting, turn off the Normalization Engine by setting CMDB-Inline-Normalization to F. For details about Centralized Configuration, see Centralized Configuration.
- Disable the Reconciliation Engine and the Normalization Engine by commenting out the following lines from the armonitor file and restart the AR System server.

To prepare your Service Level Management data for upgrade
- If you are upgrading from BMC Service Level Management 7.x and do not want to migrate SLM sample data, delete the sample data from the SLM console.
Make a note of the service level agreements, service targets, and BMC SLM contract data defined in your system. You can compare the list of these SLAs, SVTs and contracts after upgrade.
