Deploy BMC HelixGPT on-premises
Starting from BMC Helix Service Management 23.3.04, you can install BMC HelixGPT in your on-premises environment.
To install BMC HelixGPT, you must install BMC Helix Service Management in your on-premises environment by using either the CORE or FULL deployment mode:
- CORE mode: Installs only the platform and BMC HelixGPT components.
The CORE deployment mode feature is under controlled availability to select customers. We recommend that you contact BMC Helix Support to review and adjust the sizing according to your specific environment. - FULL mode: Installs BMC HelixGPT along with Service Management applications.

A system administrator in your organization deploys BMC Helix Service Management in CORE mode along with BMC HelixGPT. This ensures only the platform and BMC HelixGPT components are installed, reducing CPU and memory overhead.
Service Management user wants BMC HelixGPT with Service Management applications:
You want to enable BMC HelixGPT for BMC Helix Business Workflows across all lines of business.
In this case, the system administrator selects BMC Helix Service Management FULL mode, which installs BMC Helix Service Management, BMC HelixGPT, and BMC Helix Business Workflows. After installation, the administrator configures and enables BMC HelixGPT for all business units.
IT Operations Management user wants BMC HelixGPT with AIOps:
You want to use BMC HelixGPT with BMC Helix AIOps capabilities to improve operational intelligence and predictive analytics. A system administrator first installs BMC Helix IT Operations Management alongside AIOps components and then installs BMC HelixGPT with the BMC Helix Service Management platform, enabling advanced AI-driven insights for IT operations.

BMC Helix Service Management upgrade fails at the HelixGPT Apps stage when and the pods attempt to fetch files from huggingface.co.
Issue scope
This issue occurs when the environment lacks internet access.
Resolution
- Log in to BMC Deployment Engine.
- Run the following command:
kubectl get deployment -n <BMC Helix Innovation Suite> |grep -i gpt

- To edit the helix-gpt-assistant deployment, run the following command:
kubectl edit deployment helix-gpt-assistant -n <BMC Helix Innovation Suite namespace>
- In the helix-gpt-assistant deployment, add the following environment variable:

value: 'true' - To edit the helix-gpt-data-connection deployment, run the following command:
