BMC Deployment Engine overview

BMC Deployment Engine is a deployment tool that is used to deploy, upgrade, patch, and manage configuration of BMC Helix Innovation Suite in your environment. It is a logical entity that uses tools, such as Jenkins and Ansible to deploy BMC application workloads. 

The following diagram shows how BMC Helix Innovation Suite deployment works:

You use the BMC Deployment Engine to perform the following tasks: 

  • Install BMC Helix Innovation Suite.
  • Call the relevant pipelines that deploy applications.
