Guidelines for the BMC Remedy Administrator
As a BMC Remedy Administrator, follow these guidelines to ensure smooth functioning and maintenance of the Remedy OnDemand environment:
- Install and upgrade BMC Remedy Mid Tier to the latest version.
- Install BMC Atrium Single Sign-On.
- Based on the deployment strategy, configure a Tomcat cluster.
- Install and configure Centralized Configuration server. For information, see Centralized-configuration and Centralized configuration for mid tier.
- Decide on and adhere to a naming convention for cluster IDs.
- Onboard a tenant.
- Add a tenant.
- Configure tenant-specific properties.
- Preload the cache.
- Configure a load balancer.
- Shut down the mid tier and back up the good copy of the cache. For information, see Backing up mid tier cache.
- Keep the setup ready to deploy an additional mid tier to the cluster on the fly. For information, see Adding-an-extra-mid-tier-to-a-cluster.
- Enable the tenant console from the web.xml file. For information, see Remedy SSO multitenancy.
- Add a realm for the tenant to access the Tenant Console. For information, see Adding and configuring realms.
- Add users to the BMCSaaSAdmin group for providing tenant administrator privileges.
