21.02 enhancements preview
BMC Helix Innovation Suite delivered as controlled rollout for early adopters
Starting with version 21.02, all Service Management applications run on BMC Helix Innovation Suite. With the new BMC Helix Innovation Suite, we bring together the capabilities of Action Request System and BMC Helix Innovation Studio. This change accelerates our ability to deliver innovations to the customers. The new architecture uses fewer resources and improves integration between components.
Initially, distribution of the 21.02 release will be available only to early adopters as controlled distribution, followed by a phased rollout for a full distribution. If you are interested in being an early adopter, contact your account manager.
Leverage common Foundation data for Action Request System and BMC Helix Innovation Studio applications
BMC Helix Innovation Suite includes common Foundation data that can be used by all service management applications such as BMC Helix Business Workflows, BMC Helix Chatbot, BMC Helix ITSM: Change Management, and so on. As an administrator, you can onboard Foundation data one record at a time or load the data in bulk for all the service management applications.
Flexibility to select customization layer for developing and deploying an application
BMC Helix Innovation Studio provides the required flexibility to customize out-of-the-box applications by using customization layer.
- Best Practice Customization Mode—To customize out-of-the-box BMC Helix Innovation Studio applications and objects or create new custom objects, such as applications, record definitions, field definitions, process, and so on.
- Base Development Mode—To create, modify, and delete origin objects. For example, objects in core BMC applications like Foundation, Approval, and Assignment.
Removal of server instance types
You can develop, deploy, and undeploy your applications in any server instance type. You no longer need to depend on BMC SaaS Operations to create and deploy your applications.
Create and update record instances with multiple security labels in a single action
Use just one single element to add multiple security labels and add all the necessary permissions, roles, functional roles while creating or updating records. You no longer need to use multiple Set Security Label and Remove Security Label elements to add and remove multiple security labels in a process.
