Accrued and weighted results in FTS

FTS provides quick and consistent access to AR System requests. Users can use a special accrue operator, for example, the LIKE operator with comma-separated words to enable AR System to accrue and retrieve all requests that contain any or all words from a comma-separated list; for example, computer, PC, and error number 3794.

FTS assigns a weight to requests retrieved in an accrue operation. Weight is an integer value from 0 to 100. With weight, AR System can sort requests in a results list using a "the more, the better" approach. If a user sets the Field Sort Order in the browser to include WEIGHT in descending order, the more search terms found in a request, the higher in the list it appears in the set of retrieved requests. The closer the weight is to 100, the better it matches the search criteria.

For more information about modifying results list attributes to include FTS weights, see Displaying-FTS-weight-in-a-results-list.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
