Terminating the synchronization job

You can terminate a synchronization job if the migration process is stuck or is taking excessively long. The synchronization process might take several hours depending on the number of articles that must be migrated and their attributes. You might conclude that the process is stuck but as long as the system pushes messages to the log file, the synchronization job is running, and there is no need to terminate it.

Before you begin

To terminate the synchronization job

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio.
  2. On the Workspace tab, select Knowledge Sync > Records.
  3. On the Records tab, select Migration Jobs and click Edit data.
  4. On the Data Editor (Migration Jobs) page, open the record for the running synchronization job that you want to terminate.
  5. On the Edit Record page, set the JobStatus field to Failed, and then click Save.
  6. On the Workspace tab, select Knowledge Sync > Processes.
  7. On the Processes tab, click Manage Processes.
  8. From the list of processes, select Terminate job, and then click Run.
