Assigning application licenses to users
To assign application licenses to users
- In the AR System Administration Console, click Application > Users/Groups/Roles > Users.
- In the User form, create a user (New mode) or find an existing user (Search mode).
- Enter information in the appropriate fields to create or modify users.
In the Application License field, enter the name of the application and the appropriate license type, as shown in the following figure.
The License Type field with the Read, Fixed, Floating, and Restricted Read options is applicable only for BMC Helix Innovation Suite user licenses and not for application licenses. The License Type field with the Bundled value can be used to assign bundled licenses to the users.
For this option, you must select a value from the Application License list, which grants the license to access the BMC Helix Innovation Suiteand the selected applications. The Application License list displays the bundled license that is assigned to you in the Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) system. To provide a user with write access to the system, set the License Type field to Fixed or Floating.
Use the following syntax when providing users with application licenses:
<vendorName:applicationName> <user> <typeOfLicense>
XYZ:MusicManager User FixedSeparate multiple licenses with semicolons:
;XYZ:MusicManager User Fixed;;XYZ:NoiseManager User Floating;- Save your changes.
These application licenses function like other user licenses for BMC Remedy products. You can view current user information in the Manage User Licenses window in the AR System Administration Console, as shown in the following figure.
