Creating a list of tags for a field in a record definition


The Keyword component is available in the Shared Components section of the View designer and is visible only if the Shared Components bundle is deployed.

By using the Keyword component, you can create a list of tags, based on predefined delimiters. 

You can use the Keyword component in a Record editor.


Before you begin

Make sure you have a record editor component.


To add a Keyword component to a view definition

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio and navigate to the Workspace tab.
  2. Select the application for which you want to add a record editor.
  3. On the Views tab, click the name of the view definition to which you want to add a record editor.
  4. From Palette, drag the Record editor component to the canvas in the order that you want them to appear on the user interface.
  5. From Palette, drag the Keyword component to the Record editor component.
  6. In the Properties pane, click Settings Settings icon.pngand then specify the properties as indicated in the following table:

    Select a field from the record definition to store tags.

    Display Label

    Enter a label name that you want to display.

    Value

    Set a value for tags.

    For example, enter an email address for the Email ID field.

    Disabled

    Use the toggle key to disable the field with keywords in specific conditions.

    Hidden

    Use the toggle key to hide the field with keywords in specific conditions.

    CSS classes

    Use CSS classes when you want to add a class at runtime.

    Delimiter 

    Define a delimiter for tags; for example, comma (,), semicolon (;)

    Is Required

    Use the toggle key to define if input to the field is mandatory or not.

    Placeholder

    Enter placeholder text for the field.

    For example, enter Email ID.

  7. Click Save.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
