Importing and exporting a package


You can import or export the package across environments using the AR System Deployment Management console.

Importing a package

Importing a package to a local machine involves loading a package to a target environment.

To import a package

  1. Open the BMC Remedy Deployment Management Console.
  2. Click Transfer Package > Import.
  3. Select Browse from the pop-up window to navigate to the folder from where you want to import the package.
  4. Select the package that you want to import and click OK.

    You can import AR System deployment package from any server of the server group.

Exporting a package

Exporting a package involves saving the package and its contents to the local computer system.

To export a package

  1. Open the BMC Remedy Deployment Management Console.
  2. Select the package that you want to export.
  3. Click Transfer Package > Export.
  4. Save the package to the desired location on your local machine.

The Package Details field on the RDA:DeploymentPackageDetails form helps you identify the package content. If you need to extract the file for troubleshooting, you must use the 7-Zip utility to extract the contents of the ZIP file.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
