Sending email query instructions using the Format label

The confirmation email sent from the outgoing mailbox lists all the fields of the form (see Sending-a-query-instruction-to-the-Email-Engine). This is the default behavior of query instructions. You could use the Format label to send an email query instruction that includes only the fields specified in the results list of a form.

To use the Format label

  1. Create an email.

  2. To execute a query that returns only the fields specified in the results list, include the Format label with the Short value in your email message to the Email Engine.

    Schema: HD Incident
    Server: polycarp
    Login: Francie Frontline
    Password: <userPassword>
    Action: Query
    Format: Short

    If the Format label is not explicitly specified, by default, it will be automatically assigned a value of Full, which returns all fields in the form.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
