Responding to and viewing responses to More Information requests
This section demonstrates responding to a More Information request and then viewing the responses.
Before you begin
Before approving a request, you must:
- Follow the Creating new approval requests procedure.
- Follow the Requesting more information procedure.
To respond to a More Information request
- Log in to AR System as the sample user Violet Anderson, and open Approval Central.
- In the Summary panel, click the Needs Attention link.
- Select the I need a new computer request, and click Response.
On the AP:More Information form, enter the appropriate text in the Response field, and click Save.
The AP:More Information form closes. The More Information request is no longer visible to Violet, and the Approval Status of the request changes back to Pending.To save an entry in the Response field of the AP:More Information form, the user must be a member of a group with Change permission to the field. The AR System administrator might need to set the appropriate group-based permissions on the Response field. For information about changing field permissions, see Field-permissions.
To view the response to a More Information request
- Log in to AR System as the sample user Larry Goldstein, and open Approval Central.
Select the approval request for which you sent a More Information request, and click the Approval Details icon.
Until the recipient responds to the More Information request, the Approval Status of the associated approval request is More Information, rather than Pending. If you do not see the approval request you are looking for in the approval requests table on Approval Central, click the Search My Approvals link in the Actions panel and search for More Information requests.
- On the AP:Show-Detail form, open the Activity Log tab.
From the activity log table, select the appropriate entry.
If your question has been answered, the answer appears in the Response field in the Activity Log Details panel.
