Enabling FIPS support for BMC Helix SSO

BMC Helix Single Sign-On (BMC Helix Single Sign-On) integration is Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS-140) compliant. When you have integrated BMC Helix Single Sign-On with AR System and you have enabled FIPS-140 mode in BMC Helix Single Sign-On, complete the following steps to finish the integration successfully.

To provide FIPS support

  1. In a text editor, open the armonitor.cfg (Windows) or armonitor.conf file (UNIX).
    • Windows: ARSystemServerInstallDir \Conf\armonitor.cfg
    • UNIX: /etc/arsystem/serverName/armonitor.conf
  2. Update the following line:

    D:\Program Files\Java\<Java_Home_Folder>\bin\java" -Xmx512m -classpath
    "
    D:\ARSystem\pluginsvr;D:\ARSystem\pluginsvr\arpluginsvr7604_build
    002.jar" com.bmc.arsys.pluginsvr.ARPluginServerMain -x iBMC-66R37BS -i
    "
    D:\ARSystem" -m

and add the -Datsso.sdk.in.fips140.mode=true parameter as follows:

    D:\Program Files\Java\<Java_Home_Folder>\bin\java"
    -Datsso.sdk.in.fips140.mode=true -Xmx512m -classpath
    "
    D:\ARSystem\pluginsvr;D:\ARSystem\pluginsvr\arpluginsvr81_build
    002.jar" com.bmc.arsys.pluginsvr.ARPluginServerMain -x iBMC-66R37BS -i
    "
    D:\ARSystem" -m
  3. Save the file and close it.

You can now proceed with the integration of BMC Helix Single Sign-On and AR System. For more information, see Getting started in BMC Helix Single Sign-Ononline documentation.
