Exporting the contents of the root folder

With the Export option, you can export all of the files and subfolders in the root folder into a zip file. (See Setting-a-root-folder.) Creating a zip file is useful as a backup file or if you are working with BMC Support and you need to send them your localization database and its files.

To export the contents of the root folder

  1. In Developer Studio, select File > Export.
  2. Under the Remedy Localization Toolkit branch, select Localization Root Folder.
  3. Click Next.
  4. In the Export to File field, enter the full path and a file name for the zip file that you want to create.
If a zip file is already in the root folder but has a different name, that zip file is included in the new zip file. If the zip file in the root folder has the same name, the zip file is overwritten when the new zip file is created.
  5. Click Finish.
For more information about exporting, see Exporting-and-importing-definitions.
  6. If you set up a localization toolkit database on a AR System server:
    1. Export the data from the four forms in the Remedy Localization Toolkit Database application to a .arx files.
You should have one .arx file for each form. For information about exporting data, see Exporting-and-importing-data-and-definitions.
    2. Add the four .arx files to the zip file created in the previous steps.
For information about setting up a localization toolkit database on an AR System server, see Setting-a-root-folder.
