Viewing and updating demand details


The users who can access and view a demand are: Idea Manager assigned to the idea if the demand was created by an idea, Demand Contributor creator of the demand, Demand Manager assigned to the demand, Project Manager assigned to the project if demand has created a project, Portfofio Manager of the portfolio and Portfolio Masters.

After a demand is created, the Demand Contributor creator of the demand can update the demand details while the status is 'Draft' or 'Requested'.

The Demand Manager assigned, the Portfolio Manager of the portfolio selected and Portfolio Masters can edit the demand until 'Assessed' status.

To update a Demand

  1. Log in to the Agility Suite application
  2. Open a demand, in different ways:
    • Navigate Workspaces > Demands and click the required demand ID.
    • Navigate Portfolios, click the portfolio ID related to the demand, go to the Demands tab on the portfolio details page, and click the required demand ID
  3. On the demand details page, click Edit, and perform any of the following actions:

    Change basic demand details

    Demand contributor can update basic details of those demands he/she has created while the status is 'Draft' or 'Requested'.

    The basic details fields are:

    • Summary
    • Description
    • Attachments

    The assigned demand manager and portfolio manager of the related portfolio can update basic details in any status.

    Assign demand manager

    By default, new demands are assigned to the portfolio manager of the selected portfolio when the demand is created. 

    The demand manager assigned and the portfolio manager can reassign the demand:

    • Click the Associate button next to the demand manager field.
    • A blade window is opened with a list of people with the demand manager role. Select the new demand manager and click Select.

    Change general demand details

    The demand manager can update general details of those demands that he/she has created while the status is 'Draft' or 'Requested'.  

    The general details fields are:

    • Importance
    • Strategy
    • Corporate Alignment
    • Goal
    • Start Date
    • Target Date

    The demand manager is assigned and the portfolio manager can update general details on any status. 

    Change business case details

    The demand manager can update business case details of those demands that he/she has created while the status is 'Draft' or 'Requested'.

    The business case details fields are:

    • Business Justification
    • Business Impact
    • In Scope
    • Business Services
    • Impacted Business Units
    • Out of Scope
    • Risk Summary
    • Risk of Doing Nothing
    • Key Exception

    The demand manager assigned and portfolio manager can update business case details in any status. 

  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

Header functions

Opening an, you can also view functions (bottoms) related to the demand in the header.

The following table describes the idea functionalities that you can view for your reference: 

Header button

Purpose

Resources

This button is visible to users who have the role of a resource contributor and if resource management is activated for Demands. To get further details refer to Configure-source-entity-type.

Clicking on this button will open up a blade that shows all the resource requests and resource assignments that are related to this demand. This blade also has a button to directly create a resource request related to this demand.

Timecards

This button is visible to users who have the role of a resource contributor and if resource management is activated for Demands. To get further details refer to Configure-source-entity-type.

Clicking on this button will open up a blade that will allow the logged-in user to create a timecard.

Other demand tabs

Other than the basic, general or business case details of demand, you can also view certain tabs that provide more information about the demand. Demand managers can use this information to work on the demand or to analyze.

Demand tab

Purpose

Requirements

Consult and create Requirements related to the demand, see Creating-demand-requirements.

Once demand is approved, if a new project is created then the demand requirements are copied into the related portfolio. Case a new portfolio is created then demand requirements are copied into the new portfolio.  

Risk

Consult and define Risks related to the demand, see Identifying-risks.

Stakeholder

Consult and introduce Stakeholders involved in the demand, see Entering-Stakeholders.

Stakeholders assess, review, and re-consider the demand based on Cost, Benefits, and the long-term goal for the product.

Resource

Consult and collect Resources related to the demand, see Collecting-resources.

Activity Log

The Activities tab on the demand details page displays activities and the history of the changes that demand contributors and demand managers have made in the demand.

Demand contributors and demand managers can attach files to demand and view a consolidated list of all the documents added.
