Detailed BMC Service Level Management architecture for developers

Important

Starting with the version 9.1.04, BMC does not provide support for the SLM Collector and any BMC provided integrations that make use of the SLM Collector.

The following table lists the main components of BMC Service Level Management:

Component

Description

SLM Data Repository

The Action Request System database is the repository of all the configuration and run time data for BMC Service Level Management.

Configuration

User interface and workflow needed to configure service targets, agreements, contracts, templates, and other options.

Data sources and plug-ins

The data sources based on Action Request System use the native Action Request System interface to communicate with the main BMC Service Level Management data repository, while the Collector acts as a gateway for other data sources to communicate with BMC Service Level Management.

SLM Engine

A C++ binary that runs under the armonitor service and creates the filters to process service targets for AR System data sources.

Dashboard

A user interface to display the latest SLM data and service target and compliance status using charts and tables.

Reports

A set of pre-defined BIRT web-based reports that run on BMC Service Level Management data.
