Upgrading development flows
Complete the following tasks to upgrade flow templates:
- Log in to Integration Studio as a tenant administrator and navigate to My Flows.
- Flow templates that have upgrades available are tagged with the label,
Upgrade available.
- Identify a development flow that you want to upgrade and click the flow to open the flow details page.
- From the Actions list, select Upgrade.
The flow now uses the upgraded template. - Verify the transformation and conditions for the flow and update them if required.
Note: Changes you make to transformations are applied to any flow that uses the same connectors. For instance if you add or change any transformations while testing your development and test flows, the transformation applies to the production flow.
After upgrading all your development flows, complete acceptance testing against the development instance of Smart IT and BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Service Management.
Update test flows from development flows
When the development flows have been upgraded and tested, you can either move the flows directly to production or move them to a test environment. The best practice is to update other flows from your development flows. Integration Service provides an option to update a flow from another flow that has already been upgraded.
- Open the flow you want to upgrade and select Upgrade from flow from the Actions list.
- Select a flow from the list of flows that have already been upgraded to the new version from the upgraded flow template.
If you are updating your test flows, it is recommended that you update it from the development flow.
After updating your test flow, continue testing in your test environment. When testing is complete, you can follow the same steps to move your flows to production.
Update Production flows from Test
The final task is to update your production flows from the test flows. Creating production flows from test flows ensures that flows in you production environment have undergone testing.
Note: If you have used trigger conditions that are specific to the test flow, the conditions are copied to your production flows. After upgrade, update your production flow to remove the copied trigger conditions.
