Task 4: Enabling the IT portal
(Optional) To change the branding of the IT Central page
As a BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrator, you can customize the branding in the IT Central by using the Studio capability.
- As an administrator, log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace.
- In the URL, type admin after /dwp/.
- Select Configuration > Studio.
- Select IT Central and click Actions.
- Create a copy of the page, by selecting Actions > Duplicate, as shown in the following image:
Modify this duplicate page as required.

To publish the IT Central page
- As an administrator, log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace.
- In the URL, type admin after /dwp/.
- Click Configuration.
- In the left-hand navigation menu, click Application Features.
- Enable the IT Central page to be displayed in the top menu by selecting the check box for Studio (expose pages to end users).
- In the left-hand navigation menu, click Studio.
- On the Customize your workplaces page, click Actions for the IT Central page, and select Publish.
- On the Configuration page, click Navigation Manager.
- Add the IT Central to the top-level navigation by selecting the IT Central check box.
The following image shows how IT Central is enabled and marked as the Home page for end users: - (Optional) Change the sequence of the top menu items.
- Click Save.
The following image shows how end users can view the services from the IT portal:
End users can now submit requests for these services from the IT Central.
Where to go from here
You verify the services, workflows, and the fulfilments for the Apex Global company. When the services are ready for production environment, the administrator modifies them for your company data and business requirements, and then export and import the contents in the production environment.
