The platform-based REST API leverages the capabilities of the BMC Helix ITSM platform and lets you perform operations on BMC Helix ITSM forms.

Use this API when you need to perform operations on a custom form.

Best practice
We recommend that you use the BMC Helix ITSM simplified REST API for all supported use cases. However, you can still use the BMC Helix ITSM platform REST API and webs services to integrate custom applications. If you need to perform operations on a custom form, use the BMC Helix ITSM platform REST API.
