Troubleshooting Data Management


While loading data from earlier versions or from legacy systems into the current release of  BMC Helix ITSM, you might encounter certain issues such as process-related errors or errors related to DMT or UDM in a server group environment.

Use the following information to understand and resolve the issues:

To troubleshoot errors related to loading the data or jobs stuck in the In Progress state.

To troubleshoot errors that are specific to the validation process.

To troubleshoot errors related to the promotion process.

To troubleshoot errors in the validation and promotion process.

To troubleshoot errors during counts and updates.

To troubleshoot errors related to DMT and UDM in a server group environment.

System messages

System messages might be displayed for all the steps and they summarize issues that may have occurred during a step:

  • A general message is displayed if the Validate step related errors are detected.
    For more information, see Data-Management-error-messages or click View Data in the step to see which records display the errors and for which error codes are present.
  • A general message is displayed if the Promote step related errors occur.

For example: If a custom required field was added to the CTM:People target form and if it was not included in the CTM:LoadPeople form data push, it generates a ARERR message for a missing required field.
