Implementing a change request using the Deployment Management console

The following business scenario explains the implementation of a change request using the Deployment Management console.

Scenario

Ajay, the Business Analyst, submits a request for enhancements required in BMC Helix ITSM. He then gathers information and generates a change request for implementing the change.

Workflow

The following diagram illustrates the lifecycle of a change request using Change Management and the Deployment Management console.

Important

  • In a controlled environment, the change request is directly promoted from the Development environment to the Production environment.
  • If any issues are found during validation in QA or Production environment, the package is sent back to the developer for correction in the Development environment, and the process is restarted.
