To specify multiple field IDs, use a comma (,) as the separator between the field IDs. - Click Save.
To define implicit or explicit usage of wildcards in the Keywords filter
The percent symbol (%) is used as a wildcard for filtering records by keywords. By default, the keyword you specify is automatically followed by the percent (%) wildcard, and records that begin with the keyword in the CI name, Product Name or Description are filtered.
You can specify whether you want to implicitly add the percent (%) wildcard after a keyword or allow users to manually type the percent (%) wildcard in the format they want with a keyword.
- Open Asset Console.
- Perform one of the following steps:
- If you have enabled BMC Helix ITSM navigation bar based on BMC Helix Innovation Studio, click the Settings icon in the navigation bar.
- If you have disabled BMC Helix ITSM navigation bar based on BMC Helix Innovation Studio, click More, and then click Innovation Studio Configuration.

- Set Add trailing wildcard to keywords filter on asset console to any of the following options:
- Turn On (
): Automatically adds the percent (%) wildcard after a keyword when a user specifies the keyword. For example, <keyword>%.
By default, Add trailing wildcard to keywords filter on asset console is turned On. - Turn Off (
): Allows users to manually type the percent (%) wildcard in the format they want with the keyword. For example, %<keyword>%, %<keyword>, and <keyword>%.
Note: If you disable this setting, users must manually type the percent (%) wildcard in the format they want with the keyword.
- Turn On (
- Click Save.

Customizing Asset Console views
In BMC Helix Innovation Studio, a view definition is a graphical representation of an application. The BMC Helix Innovation Studio based Asset Console uses view definitions or views that define the console's user interface. You can customize a view by arranging the data items in a specific order or showing only specific items. To customize the out-of-the-box views, you must create a new view by copying a default view.
You can access the views from the Manage Views section under Screen Configuration in Innovation Studio Configuration in BMC Helix ITSM. The default views are displayed inside the placeholder views in the Manage Views section. For example, Asset Console is a placeholder view for the main interface of Asset Console. Default Asset Console SM is the actual view that defines the console's interface. When you copy this default view, the copied view name is displayed inside the placeholder view.
The following default views are available for customization out of the box for Asset console:
Views | Description | Default view names |
---|---|---|
Asset Console | Asset console view | Default Asset Console SM |
Asset actions | In Asset console, you can perform bulk actions by clicking Asset actions. You can update the asset attributes in bulk by clicking Update Asset from the Asset actions menu. The Update Asset window opens, and you can update the attributes of the assets. The Asset Bulk Update View defines the interface of this Update Asset window.
Similarly, Asset relate people container defines the interface of Relate people window for the Relate people asset action. |
|
Row actions | In Asset console, you can directly perform the following actions on a selected CI by clicking the in-row Action menu :
The View related people container defines the interface of the Related people window.
