Troubleshooting CI related issues


When working with configuration items (CIs), you might encounter some issues while exploring CI relationships or while creating or modifying a CI. Use the information in this topic to understand and resolve the problem.
The following table describes the actions that correspond to the symptoms in the Mid Tier interface:

In Asset Management Console, the following error message is displayed when you click Explore CI to view the CI relationships:

Error from Widget Instance not found.

When you create a CI, ensure that you have access to the company selected in the Default Company list in Asset Management Settings.

The Search Inventory Locations dialog box is not displayed when you set the value of the Status list to In Inventory while you are creating or modifying a CI.

Manually configure the settings to display the dialog box. 

I am unable to find the CIs to relate to an asset.

Multiple users face this issue

  • Verify that you have entered the correct CI names
  • Verify that the CI record exists in the system
  • Verify that you have the permissions to access CIs
