Rebranding the CMDB Portal
A configuration manager can change the colors of components in the CMDB user interface to match their company's brand colors. Use the BMC.CORE.CONFIG:BMC_UIComponent form to change the company logo and change the colors of the following components in the CMDB Portal user interface:
- Navigation bar
- Text (Secondary and Active )
- Background

Before you begin
For changing the logo, make sure that the new logo adheres to the following recommendations:
File attribute

Any of the following formats:
- JPG
- JPEG
- PNG
File dimensions
- Height: 29.712px
- Width: 101.6px
File size
Up to 2 MB
- Make sure you have the HEX codes for the colors.
- Make sure you have permission to access the BMC.CORE.CONFIG:BMC_UIComponent form.

To rebrand the CMDB Portal
- Open the BMC.CORE.CONFIG:BMC_UIComponent form.
- Click New Request.
Enter the following values in the form:
Parameter
Description
Class ID
Enter BMC_UICOMPONENT.
ComponentName
Enter CustomSkinParameters.
ComponentRelatedClassId
Enter 0 (Zero).
ComponentTag1
Enter the desired HEX color code to change the primary color (Orange).
ComponentTag2
Enter the desired HEX color code to change the active color (Teal) on the UI when you hover over text.
ComponentTag3
Enter the desired HEX color code to change the secondary color (White) which is the color of the text in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.
ComponentTag4
Enter the desired HEX color code to change the background color (Black) which is the color of the navigation bar at the top of the screen.
ComponentType
Confirm that value is set to None.
File Name
Upload the logo file to change the logo in the CMDB Portal.
Make sure the logo file adheres to the specifications listed under the section Before you begin.- Save the form.
View the changes in the CMDB Portal. You might need to refresh the browser for the changes to reflect.
The changes you make are retained during upgrades.
Troubleshooting
You might encounter the following issue when customizing the logo or the colors of CMDB UI.
Issue symptom
Unable to view the CMDB UI in the custom colors.
Issue scope
The custom colors and logo file are updated in the BMC.CORE.CONFIG:BMC_UIComponent form, but the changes do not reflect in the CMDB Portal.
Resolution
- Open the record that you created in the BMC UI Component form for rebranding.
- Verify that the ComponentName, color codes, and other details are entered correctly.
- Save the form and refresh the CMDB Portal page.
