Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Import Manager

The Project Import Console is named as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Import Manager page. 

The WBS Import Manager page gives you the list of the Project Imports that have occurred in the Helix Portfolio Management application. It provides a single point for Portfolio Masters, where they can monitor the progress of the imported projects.

To access the WBS Import Manager page, log in to the Portfolio Management application and click Create > Project Import.


The following figure shows the options once you access the project console.

Access menus

Navigate to the following options available in the Portfolio Management application:

  • Dashboard: The dashboard is visible to all resource contributors, managers, and masters. It consists of the Pre-Configured Cards and a Card’s settings icon that would allow the currently logged-in user to create new Custom Cards for easy access.
  • Workspace: The menu displays the available workspaces, which include, Ideas, Demands, Projects, Programs, Project Tasks, Resource Requests, and Resource Assignments. The respective workspace displays the list of ideas, demands, projects, programs, project tasks, resource requests, and resource assignments created within the application.
  • Create: It displays the options to create a new Idea, Demand, Project, Program, Portfolio, Resource Request and Project Import.
  • Portfolios: This has two categories, Business and Application Portfolios, that redirect you to the respective list of Portfolios created within the application.
  • Resources: This menu displays the list of consoles related to Resource Management, which includes Foundation Data, Timecard Approvals, Resource Timecards, Resource Availability and Competency Search.

Messages: Shows the notifications for your profile.

For example, when a project task is assigned to the currently logged in user, they will get a notification that will appear under this bell icon.

Application Settings: Shows the configuration settings in BMC Helix Portfolio Management. For more information, see Administering.

Application Launcher: Contains all the applications, created within Innovation Studio.

My Profile: Displays the following user options:

  • My Competencies: Redirects the users to the My Competencies section, where they have different consoles to add and manage their qualifications, trainings and examination certificates and keep track of their assessment history. For more information, see Managing My Competencies.
  • Log Timecards: Redirects the user to the Timecard Dashboard, where they can enter a new timecard. For more information, see Timecard Dashboards. 
  • My Availability: An availability tag that can be applied to a user's profile to show they are available for assignment.
  • My Preferences: A field to enter the preferred language of the user.
  • Sign Out: Click to log out of the application.

Workspace

List of project imports that have occurred.

Display ID

Opens the Import - Define Levels page for the imported projects.

Search grid 

Search for a project import by entering the keywords or Display ID.

Filter the listed records by entering or selecting values.

For example, you want to view active programs. To view these records, in the Filter list, select Active from the Status field and click Apply.

You can use preset filters that are available for cases, tasks, and knowledge articles to narrow down your search. Preset filters are filters that are available out of the box for cases, tasks, and knowledge articles. Learn more about creating filters in Defining filter presets to search records.
