Creating appointments and reminders


HR agents and administrators can set up appointments and reminders on the calendar. HR agents can access My Calendar from the Actions menu on BMC HR Case Management home page.

The appointments that HR agents create in the calendar are synchronized with the calendars of those users who are invited to the appointments, and who have access to BMC HR Case Management.

Calendars in BMC HR Case Management and BMC MyIT Universal Client are not synchronized. To set up an appointment with a self-service user, the same appointment needs to be manually synchronized in the calendar of a self-service user and an HR agent.

To use My Calendar features

To add a reminder that is not related to an appointment

Click Add Reminder, and complete the fields in the Set Reminder Time dialog box.

To remove an appointment or reminder

Select an appointment from the Results list on the left side of the window, and click Remove.

Change the calendar view

Click the MonthWeek, or Day tab.

Similarly, you can use the Today, Previous, and Next buttons to move to different dates.

To move an appointment or reminder to another date

Drag the appointment to the new date.

To open the calendar

From the home page of BMC HR Case Management, select Actions > My Calendar.

The calendar shows all appointments and reminders in the left column, and shows all appointments in the calendar itself. If a user who is invited to the appointment (but not the organizer) opens the appointment, it is available in read-only mode.

To create an appointment

  1. Open the calendar.
  2. To add an appointment, perform the following actions:
    1. Click Add Appointment.

    2. Complete the fields in the New Appointment dialog box.
    3. Click Save & Close.
  3. To invite other HR agents to the appointment, perform the following actions:
    1. Click the appointment in the calendar.

    2. In the Modify Appointment dialog box, move users from the Available people to the Invited People table.
    3. (Optional) In the Set Reminder list, select when the invited people receives the reminder.
  4. Click Update Appointment.
