Running the BMC HR Case Management installer


This topic describes how you can use the installation wizard to install BMC HR Case Management 4.7.0.0 or 4.7.01 on a BMC Remedy Action Request System Server.

Note

The installation program is the same for all configurations of BMC Remedy AR System Server.

To install BMC HR Case Management on a server with BMC Remedy AR System Server

  1. On the server where BMC Remedy Action Request System is installed, unzip the suite installer:

  2. Navigate to the Disk 1 folder, and run the installer:
    • For Windows, run setup.exe
    • For Linux, run setup.bin
  3. In the Introduction step of the wizard, click Next.
  4. Review the license agreement, select I agree to the terms of license agreement, and then click Next.
  5. Enter the values from the planning installation worksheets for the application parameters.
    After you have entered the required information, the installer validates your input. The Installation Preview pane appears listing the product and features to be installed.
  6. Click Install.
  7. Click View Log to review any SEVERE error messages or warnings in the product installer log.
  8. If there are errors are due to network, host, or other environment-related issue, additionally review the installation log bmchrcasemanagement_install_log.txt at the following location:  
    • On Windows - C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp
    • On Linux - /Temp/ directory.  
  9. Click Done to exit the installer.

To install BMC HR Case Management in a server group

BMC HR Case Management can be installed in a group of servers with BMC Remedy AR System. Data from multiple BMC HR Case servers are passed to a single MyIT server.

In the use case 1, MyIT connects to a primary AR server. During installation of MyIT, the connection data of the primary server is specified (for the AR server fields), and the connection details of the DB. 

In the use case 2, MyIT connects to the load balancer server that communicates with both (multiple) Remedy AR servers. During installation of MyIT, the connection data of the load balancer server is specified  (for the AR server fields), and the connection details of the DB.
