Running BMC HR Case Management Preconfigured Stack Installer


BMC provides the HR Case Management Preconfigured Stack 4.6.00 Installer that enables you to install the system components using one installer:

  • BMC Remedy Action Request System server
  • BMC AR System Clients
  • BMC HR Case Management
  • BMC Mid Tier server
  • BMC Remedy Smart Reporting.

Important

You can use HR Case Management Preconfigured Installer only as a part of a Simple deployment.

Running the installer

  1. On a server where you plan to install your system components, unzip the installer BMC HR Case Management Preconfigured Stack 4.6.00 Installer.
  2. Navigate to the Disk 1 folder.
  3. Start the installer. For Windows, run setup.exe.
  4. If you see the Notification screen, follow the instructions displayed:
  5. Then close the setup wizards, and start it again:

  6. Follow the installation wizard steps explained in the table below:

Step of wizard

Description

Do the following

Welcome

Displays welcome information.

Click Next.

2

End User License Agreement

Displays the end user license agreement text.

Select I agree to the terms of license agreement. Click Next.

Products and Directory Selection

Displays a list of products for selection to be installed, and the installation directory path selection option.

Select all products from the list.

(Recommended) The destination directory - leave the default location. Click Next.

Language Selection Information

Displays the installation language information.

Click Next.

System Resource Validation Message

Displays system recommendations information.

Click Next.

Java Platform Information

Displays the Java installation package found by the installer.

If you have several JRE versions installed, сlick Browse to select the 64 bit JRE 8. Click Next.

AR System Server User and Database Information

Displays BMC Remedy AR System Server settings, and the AR database settings.

You cannot enter other admin name and password. Upon your first login onto BMC AR System server, you will need to use the default credentials.

AR Server Information:

  • AR System Server Admin Name is by default Demo
  • AR System Server Admin Password is by default empty (no password).
  • AR System Server TCP Port is by default 0 (displays empty)
  • AR System Server Name Alias is automatically pre-populated with your server name
  • Host Name or IP Address is automatically pre-populated with your host name or IP Address.

AR Server Database Information:

  • Host Name and IP Address - enter the address of your AR Server
  • AR System Server DB Port - is 1433 by default
  • AR System Server DB Instance Name is automatically predefined with the name of AR system Server.

By default, SQL Server Authentication is selected. Use the default authentication.

Click Next.

DBMS Administrator Information

Displays SQL Server database credentials to enter:

  • SQL Server Administrator login
  • SQL Server Administrator password.
    When you enter the credentials, and click Next, the installer will connect to the database, and validate them.

Enter the SQL Server database credentials. Click Next.

AR System Server Database File Information

Displays the default AR System Server Information:

  • AR System Server DB Name - ARSystem
  • Datafile Name - ARSys
  • Logfile Name - ARSysLog.

Leave the default values. Click Next.

AR System Password Information

 Displays the fields for entering system passwords.

Enter the following passwords:

  • Local DSO User Password
  • Application Service Password
  • Mid Tier Administration Password
Important

You will not be asked o confirm password values. Make sure you enter the passwords correctly.

Click Next.

Tomcat Information

Displays option to install Tomcat server.

Select Yes if Tomcat server is not installed. Click Next.

Tomcat Installation Directory

Displays Tomcat installation directory location.

Leave the default installation directory. Click Next.

Business Objects XI/Content Path Location.

Displays fields for entering the location directory of BOXI and Context Path.

You can skip this step. Click Next.

Smart Reporting Port Input

Displays the predefined port used for reporting - 8181.

Click Next.

Reporting Server Database Platform Information

Displays the selected by default AR Database Information.

Click Next.

Reporting Database details

Displays the AR Database Information selected as reporting server database. The details are automatically pre-populted:

  • Database Server Host - the address of your AR Server
  • AR System Server DB Port - is 1433 by default
  • Database Name - ARSystem
  • Database Instance Name - the name of your AR Server
  • Username - user accessing the reporting repository
  • Password - password of the user accessing the reporting repository
  • AR System Server DB Instance Name is automatically predefined with the name of AR system Server.

BMC AR System Server License Information

Displays AR System Server License information

Enter the AR Server License key provided to you by the BMC customer support. Click Next.

BMC Developer Studio

Displays BMC Remedy Developer Studio installation directory location.

Leave the default installation directory. Click Next.

Installation Preview

Displays an overview of the system components that will be installed.

Click Install.

Installation Summary

Displays option to view log.

Click View Log. Review log to verify no exceptions are available. Click Done.

Important

The Case Master user necessary for the the first login into BMC HR Case Management, has the default credentials that cannot be changed: login - hrmaster, password - password.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
