Running BMC HR Case Management Preconfigured Stack Installer
BMC provides the HR Case Management Preconfigured Stack 4.6.00 Installer that enables you to install the system components using one installer:
- BMC Remedy Action Request System server
- BMC AR System Clients
- BMC HR Case Management
- BMC Mid Tier server
- BMC Remedy Smart Reporting.

Running the installer
- On a server where you plan to install your system components, unzip the installer BMC HR Case Management Preconfigured Stack 4.6.00 Installer.
- Navigate to the Disk 1 folder.
- Start the installer. For Windows, run setup.exe.
- If you see the Notification screen, follow the instructions displayed:
Then close the setup wizards, and start it again:
- Follow the installation wizard steps explained in the table below:

3 | Products and Directory Selection | Displays a list of products for selection to be installed, and the installation directory path selection option. | Select all products from the list. (Recommended) The destination directory - leave the default location. Click Next. |
4 | Language Selection Information | Displays the installation language information. | Click Next. |
5 | System Resource Validation Message | Displays system recommendations information. | Click Next. |
6 | Java Platform Information | Displays the Java installation package found by the installer. | If you have several JRE versions installed, сlick Browse to select the 64 bit JRE 8. Click Next. |
7 | AR System Server User and Database Information | Displays BMC Remedy AR System Server settings, and the AR database settings. AR Server Information:

By default, SQL Server Authentication is selected. Use the default authentication. | Click Next. |
8 | DBMS Administrator Information | Displays SQL Server database credentials to enter:

9 | AR System Server Database File Information | Displays the default AR System Server Information:
| Leave the default values. Click Next. |
10 | AR System Password Information | Displays the fields for entering system passwords. | Enter the following passwords:
Click Next. |
11 | Tomcat Information | Displays option to install Tomcat server. | Select Yes if Tomcat server is not installed. Click Next. |
12 | Tomcat Installation Directory | Displays Tomcat installation directory location. | Leave the default installation directory. Click Next. |
13 | Business Objects XI/Content Path Location. | Displays fields for entering the location directory of BOXI and Context Path. | You can skip this step. Click Next. |
14 | Smart Reporting Port Input | Displays the predefined port used for reporting - 8181. | Click Next. |
15 | Reporting Server Database Platform Information | Displays the selected by default AR Database Information. | Click Next. |
16 | Reporting Database details | Displays the AR Database Information selected as reporting server database. The details are automatically pre-populted:

17 | BMC AR System Server License Information | Displays AR System Server License information | Enter the AR Server License key provided to you by the BMC customer support. Click Next. |
18 | BMC Developer Studio | Displays BMC Remedy Developer Studio installation directory location. | Leave the default installation directory. Click Next. |
19 | Installation Preview | Displays an overview of the system components that will be installed. | Click Install. |
20 | Installation Summary | Displays option to view log. | Click View Log. Review log to verify no exceptions are available. Click Done. |
