Modifying the default Microsoft Teams tool settings

Use the Microsoft Teams Toolkit, which is part of the Microsoft Teams agent, to generate chat summaries, meeting summaries for scheduled meetings with transcription enabled, and extract the incident ID from the chat title.

The Microsoft Teams tool is available out-of-the-box, but you cannot modify it directly. However, you can add a new tool to modify the default tool configuration.

Before you begin

Make sure you have cloned an out-of-the-box agent, because you can only add a custom tool to a cloned out-of-the-box agent.

For more information, see Cloning an agent.

To modify the default Microsoft Teams tool settings

  1. Add a new tool to your environment. For more information, see Adding tool and toolkit for an AI Agent.
    The new tool must replicate the same field values configuration as the existing out-of-the-box Microsoft Teams tool.
  2. In the Configuration field, modify the following settings:
    SettingDescription
    organizer_email_id

    Default account to look for when requesting the meeting summary via the meeting ID.

    Use this setting if all meetings have the same organizer. If the meetings have different organizers, leave this field blank.

    Ignore this setting when requesting the meeting summary via the meeting URL, as the organizer's information is already available in the URL.

    include_meeting_chatIncludes the messages typed in the meeting as part of the summary. By default, it includes chat messages in the summary.
    number_of_last_callsNumber of past calls listed in the chat that you can select to summarize.

    Default configuration:

    {
      "organizer_email_id": "",
      "include_meeting_chat": true,
      "number_of_last_calls": 5
    }
  3. Click Save.
