Change Risk Advisor proactively assesses the risk and impact of changes, helping organizations avoid high-risk modifications that could lead to incidents or outages.

With the rise of modern practices such as DevOps and SRE influencing BMC Helix ITSM and BMC Helix AIOps, organizations are promoting smaller, more frequent changes. However, this shift brings challenges such as managing an ever-increasing number of data sources, navigating growing application complexity, and mitigating the risks of process non-adherence or data manipulation. These challenges often lead to change failures and rollbacks.

The Change Risk Advisor helps Change Managers minimize risks, ensure compliance, and enhance change success by providing increased transparency and end-to-end visibility into the change process.

Scenario: AI-driven change risk prevention

Apex Global's IT team submits a change request to update a critical server configuration. The Change Risk Advisor analyzes past incidents and real-time system data. It identifies that a similar change caused downtime due to an overlooked dependency.

The AI flags the risk and suggests adding a database admin to review the change. The change manager, using the conversational AI interface, quickly gathers insights and consults the recommended expert. The team adjusts the plan to avoid downtime and ensure a smooth update without service disruptions.
