Best Action Planner
Best Action Planner in BMC Helix AIOps that helps operators and site reliability engineers (SREs) analyze situations and determine the most effective way to resolve them. It performs a holistic root cause analysis by correlating situation data with related logs and associated changes in BMC Helix ITSM, and then updates the situation with an accurate root cause summary.
Best Action Planner includes the following tools:
- Log tool: Focuses on log-based root cause validation for a situation. When invoked, it automatically analyzes relevant logs for the impacted configuration items (CIs) associated with the situation and produces a natural-language summary, which helps identify the root cause.
- Change tool: Analyzes change request data from ITSM systems, such as BMC Helix ITSM, in the context of a situation. It evaluates associated change requests to determine whether a recent or ongoing change is likely the root cause of the issue.
- Code Wizard: After the root cause is identified by using the Log and Change tools, the Code Wizard generates template automation scripts that can be used to remediate the situation. Automation scripts are provided in commonly used formats such as Ansible, Bash, and Python, giving operators and SREs flexibility to align with their existing automation standards and tools.
