Agentic AI capabilities for BMC HelixGPT

Agentic AI capability refers to the ability to work autonomously without human intervention. It provides seamless interaction between AI agents and humans. For example, the Knowledge Curator agent uses generative AI capabilities to validate knowledge articles. It utilizes prompt instructions to review articles for quality and recommend improvements.

Agentic AI capability:

  • Automates routine tasks, reducing manual effort.
  • Enhances user experience with quick, AI-driven responses.
  • Integrates seamlessly with other BMC applications and services.
  • Boosts productivity by providing accurate, context-aware solutions.

Agentic AI capabilities are available in the following BMC applications:

  • BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround
  • BMC Helix AIOPS

For more information, see AI agents in BMC HelixGPT.

(Controlled availability customers only) Use Knowledge Curator to validate articles in BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround

The Knowledge Curator agent uses agentic AI capabilities to validate knowledge articles in BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround. It utilizes prompt instructions to review articles for quality and recommend improvements based on the Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) principles.

Knowledge workers and organizations can benefit from the validation capabilities of Knowledge Curator in several ways:

  • Ensure consistent article quality, promoting high writing standards across all articles.
  • Save time and effort when updating articles.
  • More readily adopt and implement KCS methodologies.
  • Enhance service levels and provide users with timely, relevant information by maintaining high-quality articles.

For information about validating knowledge articles, see Validating articles by using the Knowledge Curator agent.

Upload images as input to BMC HelixGPT

End users of BMC Digital Workplacecan upload an image as an input to BMC HelixGPT.  Uploading images helps end users to generate answers for the image they upload.

For example,  an end user can share a screenshot of an error message and ask for steps to resolve that error. For more information, see Image-prompt.

Add multiple response prompts for a skill

For a skill, you can include more than one response prompt. This capability enables you to create dynamic conversations by providing varied responses based on specific user inputs or conditions.

For example, one response prompt for converting your local time to different time zones and another for translating the chat messages into the language they want.

For more information, see Adding multiple response prompts.

Provide options through the Response prompt

Administrators can update the response prompt to provide customized options. For example, you can customize the response prompt to use BMC Live Chat, send an email, or redirect users to a self-service knowledge article.

This capability provides greater flexibility in tailoring the user interface and communication.

For more information, see Configure options for the Response prompt.

Register a custom application

Administrators can use the capabilities of BMC HelixGPT in their application. They can register a custom application in HelixGPT Manager, which includes the  HelixGPT Chat component. Enabling the BMC HelixGPT  powered virtual chat functionality in the custom application provides users with quick, accurate, and context-aware responses.

For example, when an administrator enables BMC HelixGPT capabilities for a custom application designed to track employee leave records, employees can interact with a virtual agent to check their leave status, review leave policies, and view their leave balance.

For more information, see Registering-an-application-for-BMC-HelixGPT-Manager.

What else changed in this release

The following table lists the changes in the product behavior:

Product behavior in versions earlier than 23.3.04

Product behavior in version 25.1.00

Validation process for user responses in BMC Helix Virtual Agent

Administrators can add a validation process in BMC Helix Virtual Agent to validate user responses.

With the validation process enabled, when a user raises a service request through BMC Helix Virtual Agent and responds to the questions asked to complete the service request, the validation process verifies if the answers meet the criteria specified for submitting the service request. If the answers are valid, the users can move to the next step or service question.

This enhancement helps to get the correct information required to resolve a request and improves service desk efficiency.

For more information, see Adding a validation process to a question.

Obtain a JSON string from the Response prompt

You can generate structured JSON responses effortlessly from response prompts, enabling seamless integration with applications.

Enclose the code block within double curly brackets to obtain a structured JSON response.

The following screenshot shows a JSON string returned by BMC HelixGPT:

Administrators can reuse a prompt by copying the prompt version from one skill to another from any application.

The following figure shows the enhanced copy prompt dialog box.

The skills are listed with their corresponding applications in the dialog box, making it easy to select and copy.
