Assign multiple user groups to users simultaneously

In BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround, you can assign multiple user groups to a user in a single step. You can do this by adding or removing user groups by selecting or deselecting the checkboxes. This enhancement streamlines user setup by eliminating the need to add each group individually, helping managers quickly apply all relevant permissions and reduce repetitive administrative effort.

(Migrated customers only) Track and measure Knowledge Curator usage data by using Business Intelligence reports

Important
This enhancement is available only to customers who have been migrated to the new content storage solution. For more information about the migration, contact BMC Helix Support. 

Use the following reports to monitor Knowledge Curator usage activities:

  • Knowledge Curator Validate report: View metrics for article validation activities to measure how effectively Knowledge Curator maintains accurate and relevant knowledge. For more information, see Knowledge Curator Validate report (ComAround).
  • Knowledge Curator Generate report: View metrics for article generation to measure how widely Knowledge Curator is used to create articles, and how it influences automated article creation. For more information, see Knowledge Curator Generate report (ComAround).

These reports help evaluate the impact of Knowledge Curator in automating the creation of new knowledge and maintaining its relevance across the organization.

Track and measure Knowledge Curator usage with out-of-the-box dashboards

Use the following out-of-the-box dashboards in BMC Helix Dashboards to monitor Knowledge Curator usage activities:

  • HKM Knowledge Curator Generation Dashboard: Track the article usage according to roles and locales. Managers can validate the usage according to locales and update the content strategy accordingly. For more information, see HKM Knowledge Curator Generation Dashboard.
  • HKM Knowledge Curator Value Dashboard:  Track the usage of the Knowledge Curator agent. The dashboard provides metrics related to AI-driven article generation and validation, and their comparison with the articles generated and validated manually. For more information, see HKM Knowledge Curator Value Dashboard.

Product behavior in version 26.1

The article ownership capability is extended to include reassignment workflows and lifecycle integration.

Ownership of knowledge articles could be assigned to user groups, but the assignment was static and required manual intervention for any changes. Visibility was limited to basic filtering, and ownership was not linked to article lifecycle stages.

Ownership management supports dynamic reassignment and is aligned with article lifecycle states, including draft, published, and review. Additional functionality includes streamlined workflows for ownership changes, enhanced reporting and dashboards for monitoring responsibilities, and notifications for overdue reviews. The interface is updated to allow bulk reassignment and to display ownership status clearly.

Filter Business Intelligence (BI) reports by assignee groups

Filtering BI report data by assignee groups is not supported.

You can filter report data by assignee groups in the following BI reports:

  • Library
  • Created
  • Tags
  • Article Quality Index
  • Views
  • Searches per article
  • Shares
  • Flags
  • Article Associations
  • Knowledge Curator Validate
  • Knowledge Curator Generate

This filter refines report results based on article ownership, which is determined by the user groups selected in the Assignee Group field in article edit mode. For more information about assigning article ownership, see Assigning knowledge article ownership to user groups.
