Adding users in BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround
As a manager in BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround, you can add users to maintain a structured, secure, and efficient knowledge ecosystem. User accounts ensure that they receive the appropriate access to knowledge content based on their role, responsibilities, and organizational needs. Assigning users to the right groups helps control visibility, safeguard sensitive information, and support consistent knowledge-sharing practices across the organization. By defining clear user roles and access levels, organizations can streamline collaboration, enhance self-service effectiveness.
The types of users in ComAround Knowledge are as follows.
- Licensed user—A knowledge worker who has the right to create and edit content in the portal.
- Basic user—An end reader who only has the right to read the content in the portal.
To add users in BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround
- As a Manager, log in to BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround.
- Click Settings and select Administration.

- On the Administration page, click Add Licensed users.

- Enter the relevant information in the following fields:
Field Description Name The name of the user. This name is displayed in the Administration tool in the user block and in the portal when logging in. It is also set as the author name of the articles the user creates, unless overruled by the user group's author name. E-mail: The e-mail address that is connected to the user. Feedback will be sent to this address unless overruled by the user group's author email. User name The unique name associated with the user. The user uses this name to log in.
Important: The user name must be unique across all environments. If a user with a specific user name exists in one environment, a different user cannot be created with the same user name in another environment. For example, a user name assigned to the user in the Production environment cannot be reused in the QA or Development environments.
Password The password that is connected to the user and is used when logging in. You can let the system generate a random password. 
- In User groups, select the user groups you want by selecting the relevant checkboxes. You can also use the filter to search for user groups by their names.

- Click Save.
