Managing banner items

As a catalog administrator, internal supplier, or internal supplier administrator, you manage banner items, which are a set of banner images and promotional preferences for these images. You can create a schedule for displaying banners, archive old banners, and delete banner items.

Before you begin

Create the banner, as described in Adding-and-configuring-banner-items.

To create a visibility schedule for a banner item

You can set the date and the time range for a banner to be visible to the end users.

Important

Only Published banner items can be scheduled.

  1. Go to Services > Banners, and select a banner.
  2. Select Actionsicon-option.png> Schedule.
    The Schedule pane appears:

  3. Select your Time zone from the list.
  4. Select the Activation check box, and choose the date and the time for a banner to start being visible for the end users.
  5. Select the Deactivation check box, and choose the date and time for a banner to stop being visible for the end users.
  6. Select or clear the check box Archive banner on deactivation.
  7. Click Save Schedule.

To archive a banner item

You can archive a banner item, which is in Draft or Published status. If you archive a banner item, it retains all the settings, but is no longer available in BMC Helix Digital Workplace.

  1. Go to Services > Banners, and select a banner.
  2. Select Actionsicon-option.png> Archive.

To remove a banner item from the archive

You can unarchive a banner item (remove it from the Archive list). If the banner was assigned to a section in the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog before archiving, the banner returns to the same section after unarchiving and publishing.

Important

After you unarchive a banner item, it returns to Draft status. All original settings, including the visibility schedule, are restored.

  1. Go to Services > Banners.
  2. Open the Archive tab, and select a banner.
  3. Select Actionsicon-option.png> Unarchive.

To delete a banner item

  1. Go to Services > Banners, and select a banner.
  2. Select Actionsicon-option.png> Delete.
