Managing broadcasts and notifications for end users


Broadcasts are an effective communication tool for organizations to send messages and announcements to a large group of users at once. The broadcast messages are created to notify several users of an important event, an alert, or critical information. End users receive broadcasts as push and in-app messages.

Notifications are an official means of communication to notify individual users of events, status updates, or calls to action. The application sends notifications to get the attention of users. Notifications help users stay informed or determine their next course of action.

Users can also receive notifications and broadcasts in BMC Helix Virtual Agent (DWP Advanced icon.pngBMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced license only)

Managing broadcasts

All types of broadcasts are managed in the Broadcast section of the administrator console. As an administrator, you can create broadcasts for a specific audience and schedule them for a specific time.

Managing notifications

Notifications are the messages that the application sends to inform users about changes to services and activities or status updates. As an administrator, you can manage the notifications sent as email, push, and in-app messages in BMC Helix Digital Workplace for different events.

To send email notifications, you can choose to use the notification engine in BMC Helix Digital Workplace or the notification engine on BMC Helix Innovation Suite.
