Statement of direction: End-of-life for BMC HR Case Management and BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management integration features


BMC announces that BMC HR Case Management and BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management integration capabilities in BMC Helix Digital Workplace will be discontinued.

Background

BMC HR Case Management reached product end of life on December 17, 2022, and no versions of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management are supported as of December 31, 2021. Features available in BMC Helix Digital Workplace through the integration with these products were deprecated in version 21.05 of BMC Helix Digital Workplace. However, BMC has continued to maintain these features in BMC Helix Digital Workplace


Statement of direction

In a subsequent release, BMC plans to discontinue BMC Helix Digital Workplace features that are linked to the integration with BMC HR Case Management and BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management. Afterward, customers will see the following changes in BMC Helix Digital Workplace: 

BMC Helix Digital Workplace end-user console

BMC Helix Digital Workplace Admin console

BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog

End users won't be able to see the following items on the My Activity page: 

  • Service requests related to BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management. 
  • Service requests related to BMC HR Case Management. 

Important: Administrators will retain the option to view created service requests directly in BMC HR Case Management, provided they have access to the server hosting BMC HR Case Management. Catalog administrators will be able to view data about these service requests in the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog reports. 

The following pluggable providers will be removed: 

  • CLM cloud services pluggable provider
  • HRCM - knowledge pluggable provider
  • HRCM - service catalog pluggable provider
  • HRCM - user details pluggable provider

The following connectors will be removed:

  • CLM
  • HRCM

The list of changes described is not exhaustive, and other configurations in the Admin and Catalog consoles might be affected. BMC will provide a complete list of changes after the features are discontinued. 

Going forward, BMC’s strategic direction is to provide HR service management capabilities through BMC Helix Business WorkflowsBMC Helix Business Workflows has been available since the end of 2017 and BMC HR Case Management customers have successfully migrated to this alternative. BMC Helix Business Workflows provides advanced features and capabilities readily available to take the employee experience with HR to the next level.
