BMC Service Request Management

While BMC will continue to maintain the current BMC Service Request Management capabilities for the existing customer base and for those who migrate from on-premises to SaaS, BMC Service Request Management is no longer available in new deployments of BMC Helix Digital Workplace. We recommend that all customers use BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog to create and manage service request catalog items for their end users.

BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog REST API
To submit a specified request to the specified service

The To submit a specified request to the specified service API is one of the ways to submit a specified request by using the following endpoint:

POST /services/{serviceId}/requests/{requestId}/submissions

This endpoint is due to be deprecated, so we recommend that you use the following equivalent APIs:

  • To submit a bulk service request order
  • To create and submit a service request in a single API call

Jira connector in BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog.

The Jira connector in BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog is one of the ways to create Jira tickets corresponding to a Catalog service request. This connector is due to be deprecated and we recommend customers to use BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit to integrate with Jira.

Leading wildcards in searches that are performed on fields indexed for Full Text Search (FTS)

Leading wildcards are no longer supported in wildcard searches that are performed on fields indexed for Full Text Search (FTS). Only trailing wildcards are supported for these fields. Discontinuing the support for leading wildcards enhances application performance.

Important: Certain sources do not support the search with wildcards in general. This update only impacts sources that allow the wildcard search.

Mixpanel Analytics

Support for Mixpanel Analytics is discontinued from September 30, 2023. Mixpanel Analytics is turned off for existing customers if it was previously enabled. 

Mixpanel Analytics enabled BMC support to track end users' activity in BMC Helix Digital Workplace. The data was used to get web statistics and optimize the functionality and performance of the website. It was used to get insights on search behavior to help with the personalization of BMC Helix Digital Workplace and market research.  

Basic authentication for Microsoft Exchange

Starting October 1, 2022, Microsoft deprecated basic authentication for Microsoft Exchange. Customers need to migrate to OAuth2 authentication.  

To enable OAuth2 authentication for the Microsoft Exchange pluggable provider in BMC Helix Digital Workplace, in the provider settings, select the Enable OAuth2 check box, and enter the Client ID, Client Secret, Exchange Tenant ID, and URL. For detailed instructions, see Integrating-with-other-applications-by-using-providers.

Integration for BMC HR Case Management

The HR Case Management feature will no longer be supported. However, its capabilities have been integrated into BMC Helix Business workflows, ensuring a smooth transition for customers. For more information, see Statement-of-direction-End-of-life-for-BMC-HR-Case-Management-and-BMC-Cloud-Lifecycle-Management-integration-features.

Integration for BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management, which allows users to view and request available virtual machine (VM) offerings as part of BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog.

BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management will no longer be supported for features available in BMC Helix Digital Workplace through the integrations. For more information, see Statement-of-direction-End-of-life-for-BMC-HR-Case-Management-and-BMC-Cloud-Lifecycle-Management-integration-features.
