Consoles and localization
The following table indicates consoles that are localized in BMC Helix Digital Workplace:
Login page and localization
If the BMC Helix Single Sign-On authentication is enabled for BMC Helix Digital Workplace, the login page is displayed in the languages that BMC Helix Single Sign-On supports. For more information, see Supported languages and locales in the official BMC Helix Single Sign-On documentation. If the BMC Helix Single Sign-On authentication is disabled for BMC Helix Digital Workplace, the BMC Helix Digital Workplace login page is displayed. This login page is localized and aligns with the web browser's locale settings. It can be displayed in any supported language, irrespective of the enabled and disabled languages in the BMC Helix Digital Workplace end-user console.
BMC HelixGPT and localization
This capability is available with the BMC Helix Service Management Advanced license.
The BMC HelixGPT chat interface and system messages adopt the language settings of the BMC Helix Digital Workplace end-user console. For example, if the end-user console is in German, the chat interface and system messages are displayed in German. BMC HelixGPT matches the language of the end-user console by adhering to the language settings defined by the BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrators. Administrators define the language settings by enabling or disabling specific languages, setting a default application language, and allowing end users to override language settings. To learn more about these settings, see Setting-a-language-for-your-end-users. If necessary, the HelixGPT Administrator can modify the default localized message responses. For more information, see Localizing system message responses in BMC HelixGPT.
When conversing with BMC HelixGPT, users can ask questions and receive responses in their preferred language. By using the locale context variable, BMC HelixGPT prompts identify a user's locale in BMC Helix Digital Workplace based on the language settings defined for the end-user console. Then, BMC HelixGPT prompts direct the large language model to respond in that locale.
Out-of-the-box BMC HelixGPT prompts include the locale variable and the instructions to reply in the user's locale by default. Learn how you, as a user with the HelixGPT Administrator role, can configure custom prompts to dynamically translate the response to the preferred locale in Creating skills and prompts for your BMC Helix applications. For example, you can create prompts with instructions to reply in a language the question was asked in, instead of the user's locale.
Even when BMC HelixGPT is instructed to respond in a specific language, users can still ask questions and get answers in a different language. Users can specifically tell BMC HelixGPT in their questions which language they want the response in. These instructions within the questions must be more specific and detailed than the predetermined prompts, so they will take priority over the prompt text.
