Auditing administrator configuration changes


Auditing administrator configuration changes for  BMC Helix Digital Workplace and BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog provides transparency and accountability. It automatically helps to track and log changes made in the BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrator  console and BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog console. The resulting logs show which user made which changes, at what time and date the change was made, and provide details of the change. By default, this setting is enabled.

 

Important

After creation, these audit records are permanent and cannot be deleted. Additionally, there is no retention period for retaining these historical records. Access to audit logs is restricted to SaaS admins.

Modifications to file restrictions, attachment limits, rich-text fields, default attachment-type question limits, and allowed URI schemes aren’t directly audited, these changes do prompt the saving of file type rules, thereby enabling the identification of the administrator who made the changes.

Administrator console > Configuration > Chat

Audit support is provided to track changes made to chatbot configuration settings, including modifications to responses, behaviors, and integrations. The audit log captures the user who made the change, the timestamp, and the details of the change.

Administrator console > Configuration > Email & Notifications

Audit support is provided to track changes made to the Recipients can change their notification language settings that you use to enable end users to select the language of email notifications sent via the notification engine on BMC Helix Innovation Suite. For more information, see Task-5-Enabling-the-notification-engine. These changes are recorded in the allowEditItsmNotificationPreferences record, which includes details such as the name of the user who made the update, the date and time of the change, and the chosen value for the setting.

To view the audit record

In BMC Helix Innovation Suite, you can view the recent audit logs and verify the latest changes made to your applications. These records can be viewed and organized in chronological order by sorting them based on the Modified date.

To view the audit record, perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Suite and navigate to the Workspace tab. 
  2. Select the application for which you want to view the audit record definition.
  3. Click the Records tab.

    For BMC Helix Digital Workplace application, the following audit settings are available:

  4. Select the checkbox for the specific audit setting that you want to view.
  5. Click Edit data and then click the required Display ID to view the corresponding audit record.
