Knowledge providers and knowledge filters supported for BMC HelixGPT
BMC HelixGPT supports BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround to generate answers.
Administrators can leverage static and dynamic tags for knowledge articles in BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround to narrow down and provide refined, relevant, and up-to-date answers to the end users. Static tags are predefined and fixed descriptive labels or keywords assigned to articles. Search filters can be a combination of dynamic tags and static tags by using the AND or OR operators. Static tags are typically used to filter articles based on lines of business, whereas dynamic tags are used to filter based the end-users' roles, permissions, and location. With these filters, when users ask a query to BMC HelixGPT, the answer is generated from only those knowledge articles that match the tags in the search filter. For more information, see Creating search filters for BMC applications.

Out-of-the-box sample skills
Out-of-the-box (OOTB) sample skills and their associated prompts are available in BMC HelixGPT for BMC Helix Digital Workplace. These OOTB skills are preconfigured for multiple models supported by BMC HelixGPT. These skills and the prompts that are linked to them have the DWP prefix that makes them recognizable to administrators.
BMC HelixGPT administrators can copy and tailor these skills to quickly adopt BMC HelixGPT.
BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrators can streamline the configuration of BMC HelixGPT within BMC Helix Digital Workplace, particularly on the Employee Navigator panel and on the Studio pages, by selecting the sample OOTB skills prefixed with DWP. When administrators select the desired OOTB skill, multiple BMC HelixGPT capabilities are activated automatically due to the availability of various prompts within the selected skill, eliminating the need for additional configurations.
For example, when configuring BMC HelixGPT capabilities for the Employee Navigator panel, administrators no longer need to associate multiple prompts with a selected skill. Instead, if an administrator chooses a specific OOTB skill that has various prompts associated, end users can automatically use Employee Navigator to find information related to knowledge articles, service requests, approvals, to-dos, people attributes, and service health items. As a result, BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrators can easily select the skills they need without having to configure them manually or even needing in-depth knowledge of BMC HelixGPT configuration. To view the list of available OOTB skills and prompts for BMC Helix Digital Workplace, see Out-of-the-box skills in BMC Helix Digital Workplace.

Troubleshooting
The following section describes the steps you can perform if you encounter the following issues:
Issue | Steps to perform |
---|---|
Unable to view the HelixGPT toggle | This toggle can be viewed only if you have configured the API key for the Azure OpenAI service provider. |
Unable to view the skill I created | Skills for which the application is set as DWP are displayed in this list. Ensure that the application is correctly set when Creating prompts and skills for consistent and efficient responses from BMC HelixGPT. |
BMC HelixGPT is unable to generate answers to a question | Ensure that the related knowledge articles or documents are ingested and filters are configured. |
Links displayed at the end of the answers generated by BMC HelixGPT do not open the knowledge articles | Most likely because the skill you are using does not have filters to limit the access to external articles, or to a certain company.
