Task 3: Mapping services with service templates

As an administrator, after running the prechecks and identifying the SRDs that you want to migrate, you must map these services with service templates in Catalog. You complete this task so that all migrated services are associated with an appropriate service template based on which the workflow and questionnaire are triggered. 

Important

 If you are using SRDs that are already imported in Catalog via the import capability, you can skip this step.

To map services with service templates

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog. 
  2. Select Catalog > Import. 
  3. Click the checkbox next to the Catalog name from which you want to map the services. 
  4. Click Catalog Import Options.

  5. Select the checkboxes next to the services that you want to map and click Configure.

    Important

    If you selected multiple services, make sure that all services use the same service template.


  6. On the Connection Options panel, from the Select a template list, select the template to which you want to map the service. 
  7. Click Profile Details. 
  8. On the Profile Details panel, from the list of fields in Service Excerpt, map the service fields with the template fields.
    For example, Service Excerpt can be mapped to excerpt. 
  9. From the list of fields in Service Description, map the service fields with the template fields. 
    For example, Service Description can be mapped to description. 
  10. Preview the service and then click Save. 
  11. (Optional) Click Queue for import.
  12. Repeat the steps for other services that you want to migrate.

You have mapped the services with the appropriate service templates.
