Managing social posts


To solve their daily tasks and improve communication and collaboration within the organization, end users can add social posts about a user profile, group profile, asset profile, and location profile.

As an administrator, you can view or delete social posts added by end users in your organization. You can delete inappropriate or outdated social posts from the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Admin console. 


Configuring social posts and notifications for end users

The following table describes the administrator tasks to enable and manage social posts for end users:

Enable the Posts setting so that end users can add social posts.

Enable the Social Activities setting so that end users can get updates related to people, groups, locations, or assets that they follow.

Configure notifications so that end users are notified about the social activity of the people they follow.

Delete inappropriate or outdated social posts


To delete social posts

  1. As an administrator, log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Admin console.
  2. Click the Social tab.
  3. View or delete social posts by selecting one of the following options:
    • Timeline—All posts added by end users.
    • Users—Posts added by selected users and posts where these users were mentioned
    • Locations—Posts created by end users for a selected location.
    • Assets—Posts created by end users for a selected asset.
  4.  Click Delete Selected, as shown in the following example:

Results 

After the administrator configures social posts, Britney, an end user finds that the projector in a conference room on the fourth floor is not working. She selects her office and the conference room from the Locations tab and adds a post The projector is broken in this conference room.

Mary, who also sits on the fourth floor, follows this room because she often uses it for sales presentations. She receives a notification for Britney's post. Mary adds another post: I have submitted a ticket already

Britney is notified of Mary's post and waits for the ticket to get resolved.
