Updates in 21.3.11

(Controlled availability customers only) Facilitate application access to users having different email domains

Allow multiple users having different email domains and authentication mechanisms to access the same application URL by enabling BMC Helix Single Sign-On based multiple service providers (MSPs) in your environment. MSP incorporates a robust authentication mechanism, ensuring an exclusive and secure access to the application.

After configuring the authorization patterns and enabling MSP, the following login screen is displayed to complete the authorization:

After the user name is authorized in BMC Helix Single Sign-On, you are then redirected to enter the login credentials for authentication.

The following image is an example of the Employee portal application login screen:

For information about enabling BMC Helix Single Sign-On based MSP in BMC Helix Digital Workplace, see Facilitating application access to users having different email domains.

Updates in 21.3.10

As a Catalog administrator, you can configure the connection and read timeout periods in the BMC Helix Platform and REST connectors. This capability prevents issues from being generated because of a timeout exception when the system creates, reads, or resolves cases in BMC Helix Business Workflows or any other application integrated by using the REST connector. You can configure the following timeout settings:

  • BMC Helix Platform connector—Connect timeout, Read timeout, and Long read timeout.
  • REST connector—Connect time out and Read timeout

To learn how to configure these settings, see BMC-Helix-Platform-connector and REST-connector

Updates in 21.3.09

The Exchange pluggable provider does support not deprecated authentication methods such as basic authentication. Only OAuth2 authentication is supported. The Enable OAuth2 check box is no longer required and has been removed, along with the User Name and Password fields. For more information, see List-of-providers.

Updates in 21.3.07

Users can specify the connection timeout and read timeout duration for the TrueSight Orchestration (TSO) Connector. For more information, see TrueSight-Orchestration-TSO-connector.

Updates in 21.3.04

Notifications about new versions provide users with a mechanism to enable them to reload the application and get the latest code.

Updates in 21.3.03

BMC Helix Digital Workplace now supports version 20.08.00 as a source version for migration to 21.3.03 and later.

Updates in 21.3.02

For new SaaS customers, starting with version 21.3.02 of BMC Helix Digital Workplace, BMC Service Request Management is no longer available in new or fresh deployments of BMC Helix Digital Workplace. We will continue to maintain the current BMC Service Request Management capabilities and deliver minor updates to the solution, as needed for the existing customer base and for those who migrate from on-premises to SaaS, but no major design changes or major innovations are planned for BMC Service Request Management.

BMC recommends that SaaS customers use BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog to create and manage service request catalog items for their end users. Work Order management continues to be delivered with BMC Helix ITSM.
