This documentation supports the 20.08 version of BMC Digital Workplace Basic, which is available only to BMC Helix subscribers (SaaS). To view an earlier version, select the version from the Product Version menu.

Enabling users to delegate approvals

As a BMC Digital Workplace administrator, you can enable the delegation feature so that approvers can assign their approval requests to alternate approvers. By using this feature, end users can decrease the number of unresolved requests if they cannot process them on time (for example, due to an absence).

Types of approvals that can be delegated

Delegation is supported for the following types of approvals:

  • Requests from BMC Remedy Service Request Management
  • Requests from BMC HR Case Management

Important

For BMC HR Case Management, the delegation feature is supported only if BMC HR Case Management and Remedy IT Service Management are installed on the same AR System server.

The delegation feature is not supported for users who have the Standard Viewer role in BMC HR Case Management.

Before you begin

Enable one or more of the available approval types in BMC Digital Workplace. For information about how to do this, see Enabling approvals.
